Said to be a precious herb to Aphrodite, the Greek goddess of Love, Marjoram is a relative of oregano and lavender. Flavor is a bit minty with citrus and slightly bitter notes.
Our dried Marjoram leaf, similar to other dried herbs, has a more concentrated flavor than it's fresh version. If a recipe calls for fresh marjoram, start with half the amount of dried and add more if desired. Marjoram should be added at the end of cooking time, as it's flavor is more delicate and can get lost if cooked for a long time.
Try in an herb rub for fish or chicken, use as an herb in an herbed sourdough bread, add to our Lemon White Balsamic to create a beautiful finishing glaze for a grilled or broiled white fish.
